I’m a writer and editor with deep experience on the books beat.
Currently, I’m the deputy editor for books at Medium, focusing mainly on editing non-fiction book excerpts. This makes me a generalist—day to day, I might be working on material across topics like tech, science, society, business, health, and history. I also commission original work by or about book authors, including features, essays, and Q&As. I’m proud to have worked on special projects like Medium’s first published novel and UGC collaborations with authors.
Previously, I was the books editor and a staff writer at TIME Magazine, where I planned the books section and reviewed across a broad range of genres: literary novels, mysteries, biographies, memoirs, kids’ lit, you name it. I also profiled authors like Salman Rushdie, Jesmyn Ward, and Celeste Ng. I served as deputy editor on the 2017 and 2018 TIME 100 issues and worked on many of the magazine’s signature pages, from Milestones to 10 Questions. I also interviewed dozens of celebrities for the magazine, from Julie Andrews to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
I previously worked for Newsweek and The Daily Beast and am an alumna of Vassar College.
